Mont Jennings, 90 of Buffalo, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Mexia. He was born to the late Mont L. & Fannie Bowen Jennings on July 30, 1917 in Belen, NM.
Mont was a veteran of World World II serving in the United States Army. He loved to read westerns and play golf. He was a private corporate Pilot and had 30,000 flying hours including his time serving our country. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Phyllis C. Jennings; his son, Bill Jennings and his wife, Judy of Denton; his daughter, Montessa Fiveash and her husband, William of Memphis, TN, his step-son, Howard Axtell of Buffalo, and step-daughter, Eva Hunter and her husband, Bruce of Denton; he is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Axtell; Montessa's mother, Dorothy Jennings; and Bill's mother, Henrilee Voss.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
Graveside services and military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Water Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas with Bro. Mac MacPherson officiating.
