Monroe Scott Jackson II - Scott Jackson, 75 of Maypearl, TX passed away Dec 7, 2013 in Waxahachie, TX. He was born Sept 16, 1938 in Ozro, TX to Monroe Scott Jackson and Martha Victoria Arnold. Scott attended Texas Tech University, enjoyed reading, learning, storytelling, and never met a stranger. Along with farming and ranching, Scott worked movie sets and played bit parts, built houses, patented inventions, ran barbeque and catfish fry catering services, and managed hay rides at events all over Ellis Co. He won numerous ribbons at the State Fair of Texas for his hay, and FFA awards for his milk cow Roanetta. Scott was past president Habitat for Humanity of Ellis Co., longtime Kiwanis Club member, and active member of Bethel Methodist Church, Waxahachie. Scott is survived by his wife Elizabeth Anne; sister, Martha Victoria Bannister and husband Wesley of Alpine; three children, Melinda Linn Jackson and partner Jana of Driftwood; Michael Monroe Jackson and wife Christine of Ft. Worth; Kelly Annice Brooks and husband Les of Rochelle; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Taylor, Blake, Charles and Jackson, and numerous beloved step-children. Visitation with the family is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 11, 2013 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. Services to celebrate Scott's life are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec 12, 2013 in the chapel at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Ozro Cemetery in Maypearl. Pallbearers are Charles Sommerfield, Scott Cotton, Doug Stout, Johnny Coleman, Scotty Pearson, and Roy Vanhuss. Memorials can be made to Habitat for Humanity of Ellis Co. or to the college scholarship fund of Bethel Methodist Church, Waxahachie.
