Mr. West, a lifelong rancher and cattleman in Ellis County, passed away Friday morning in Waxahachie. He was born in Waxahachie to Walter Earl and Ada Estelle (Dunn) West. He married Florine Youngblood October 10, 1934 in Waxahachie. He was retired from the US Postal Service. Mr. West was the Secretary of the Sunday School at Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, where he had been a member for the past fifty years.

He is survived by: his wife, Florine of Waxahachie; two daughters and their husbands, Caroline and Hugh Fullerton of Corsicana, and Suzy and Preston (Jim) Hall of Waxahachie; one granddaughter, Bobbette Butler and her husband Elbert of Frost; two grandsons, Brian Hall of McKinney and Scott Hall of Dallas; four great grandchildren, Brett Butler, Bailey Hall, and Trevor and Tanner Hall; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Clifton West; and two sisters, Ann West and Cora James.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday night at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Sunday, July 25, 2004 at the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church with Reverend John Shipman and Reverend Don Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park.
