Mr. Roe, a lifetime resident of Waxahachie passed away at his home Saturday evening.
He was born in Waxahachie to Ewell and Jewel Kelly Roe. He was a graduate of Allen Military Academy, Bryan, Texas. He married Patricia A. Rockett October 21, 1949. Miles was a member of the U.S. Army where he served in the military occupation of Japan. After WWII he joined the 49th Armored Division of the newly formed National Guard where he served as Master Sergeant through the Mid 1960's. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years. He followed his father's career as a city and a rural mail carrier. Miles T. was involved with Waxahachie Little League as a coach and umpire for many years. He also volunteered his time for WHS Band Boosters for over 10 years. He enjoyed a lifetime of building and flying Radio Control Model Airplanes. He was a member of the Men's Downtown Bible Class, attended First Baptist Church, Waxahachie, and was a member of the Whataburger Bunch. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat Roe; his children, Terry Roe and wife, Pat of Midlothian; Vicki Graham and husband Danny; Denise Stembridge and husband Jack all of Waxahachie. He was Papaw to six grandchildren: Courtney Graham, Jason Roe, Brandon Graham, Cole, Brooke, and Georgia Stembridge. He was a great-grandfather to Dylan Graham. He is also survived by his sister, Nita Fallis and her daughter Valerie Lopez of Pebble Beach, CA.; his brother, Eddie Roe of Waxahachie, TX.; other family members include: Ernestine Wallace of Waxahachie and Ernest and Susanne Rockett of Centennial, CO.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Monday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM graveside services Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Hillcrest Burial Park, Waxahachie with Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Nelson Jones, Bub Booher, Horace Bratcher, Jim Lobb and Bill Hrrn. Interment will follow.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
