Michael Smesny
Michael Blaine Smesny, of Midlothian, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 25th, 2020. He was the beloved son of Max and Georgie Smesny.
Mike was born in 1959 in Houston, Texas. He was the third of five sons. The family moved to Midlothian in 1971 where Mike attended Midlothian public schools until he graduated in 1977.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Max, and is survived by his mother, Georgie Smesny, brothers Ron Smesny and his wife Eva, Mark Smesny and his wife Elizabeth, Greg Smesny, and Craig Smesny and one niece and seven nephews.
Michael worked in special needs group homes and workshops for 25 years where he loved both his job and the clients he selflessly cared for on a daily basis. Each one was as special to Mike as he was to them.
Outside of working with his special needs clients, Mike was interested in painting and ceramic arts, music and movies. Michael also took pride in maintaining the family place with the lawns and pastures mowed perfectly and equipment and structures kept in order. He enjoyed vacationing in the Philippines with friends and established close relationships with many of the local people.
Michael had a unique spirit that enriched the lives of all who were blessed to have known him.
