Michael Mahoney

Michael Patrick (Mikie) Mahoney April 09, 1974 May 19, 2011 Mike Mahoney, 37, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011. He is survived by the love of his life, Jeri Mahoney, whom he married on February 15, 2004. Together they raised their daughter, Haley Hudson. Mike was very close to T.J. Jones, his nephew whom he loved and considered a son. He was also close to his very special niece Bailey Jones as well as in-laws Pat and Jan Merill, Mike and Shirley Jones, and Tommy Jones. Mike was born in North Collins, New York to Denis and Joanne Mahoney. He spent the first twenty-three years of his life in New York with his parents and sister, Shannon (David) Rice where he was an avid sportsman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Joshua, Michaela, McKenna and Jonathan Rice, Grandfather Richard (late Agnes) Hill and many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. After moving to Texas in 1998, Mike started and successfully ran the Waxahachie Branch of American Wire Tie Inc. for thirteen years. As an entrepreneur, he also had various service businesses including Mike's Tractor Mowing Service. In his free time, Mike enjoyed grilling for his family and friends on the deck as well as spending as much time as possible outdoors. Mike's pride was his father's 67 Chevy Camero, which he loved cruising around in. Mike also enjoyed spending time with close friend George Dowd and long time friend Randy Mahoney. Mike has touched many hearts and his memory will continue to live on through those he loved. Services to celebrate Mike's life are scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Watson officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. There will be a time for visitation with the family from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
