Michael Huckaby

Michael Grady Huckaby, 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Red Oak. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie.
Michael was born on August 24, 1943 to Grady Cleo Huckaby and Anna Shawn Gibson in Hamilton, Texas. He married Carol Ann West in Grand Prairie on March 26, 1965. Together they had 3 sons. He owned an auto repair shop in Grand Prairie for over 35 years. Michael took great pride in his boys and was always a part of their lives whether it was him being their pit crew for drag car racing or coaching a kick ball team. Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carol West Huckaby; sons, Brian Craig Huckaby and his wife, Stephanie, Mark Weston Huckaby, and Kevin Scott Huckaby and his wife, Claudia; brother, Shawn Gibson; sister, Cheri Curtain; sister in-laws, Bobbie West and her husband, Bob, and Peggy Middleton and her husband, Jack; grandchildren, Jeremy Cronin and wife, Chelsea, Hayden, Kaley, Bailey, Gracie, Jeg, Cameron and Eve; and great grandchildren, Kynlee, Cambree, Cameron and Kyson. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrna Stewart; and parents in-law, Virgil and Opal West.
