Michael Ray DeLozier went to be with his Lord on Monday May 21, 2012, he was born November 7, 1960 in Fortuna, California and lived in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona and Oklahoma before settling in Waxahachie over 20 years ago. Mike loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren, going to gun shows and shooting with his friends. He enjoyed helping people and "philosophizing" was his favorite past time. He was an avid reader, the Bible was his favorite book and he loved to share his knowledge with those around him. Mike liked training horses and teaching others the techniques he had perfected over the years. Mike was well known for his straightforward honesty and approach to life as indicated in one of his favorite quotes: "If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming; I help you become that."--Johann Wolgang von Goethe Mike is survived by his wife, Paula Stanton DeLozier; daughter, Stacey DeLozier Owens of Waxahachie; step daughter, Ashley Collins and son-in-law, Jeremy of Waco; step son, Jarrod Williams and daughter-in-law, Lindsey of Dallas; step daughter, Audra Williams of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Tyler Wade Owens and Grant Michael Owens, Tailyn Nikole Palmer, Kenzi Gail Collins and Kyli Sue Collins; mother, Clovis DeLozier of Idabel, Oklahoma; sister, Kathy Donaldson and husband Carl of Ft Worth; brother, David DeLozier and wife Leonia of Cortez Colorado; sister, Karen Rozell and husband Alan of Idabel,OK; brother, Paul DeLozier and wife Paula of Haworth, OK; mother-in-law, Melba Stanton; sister-in-laws, Linda Abraham and husband John of Rosanky, Sheila Saucedo and husband Eli of Waco, Cheryl Stanton of Arlington, and Donna Nichols and husband Todd of Clifton. Mike is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Mike was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Charley DeLozier, who he loved and admired, ; and also by his father, Ray DeLozier. Those serving as pallbearers are his closest friends and confidants, Russell Poyner, Lonnie Reavis, Tim Stiles, Larry LaRose, Glenn Moore and Briant Slaughter. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County with Marvin Donnell and John Abraham officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Branch Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. Mike recently became involved with the Halo for Freedom Warrior Foundation which provides support for wounded warriors.
