Mellie Jewell Perryman, 91 of Denton, formally of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 in a Denton hospital. She was born to the late J. C. and Mamie Ann Collier Ham on February 28, 1917 in Waxahachie.

Mellie loved Waxahachie. She was a member of College Street Church of Christ and loved her church. She enjoyed her home on Rogers Street and she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Russell and her husband, Benny of Denton; her son, Glenn Perryman and his wife, Connie of Waxahachie; her sister, Nellie Baty of Bedford; she is also survived by her grandchildren; Karene Neill and husband, John, DeLena Spitler and husband, Frank, Kristan Perryman, Kimberly Perryman, and Billy Perryman; 4 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Nathan, and Natalie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, I. L."Bill" Perryman, her parents, 2 children and 4 brothers.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Funeral Home.
