Medford Marion

Medford Eugene "Buster" Marion, 73 of Maypearl, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was born to the late J. D. and Etta Jones Marion on February 13, 1938 in Ellis County, Texas. Buster was a life time resident of Maypearl, and graduated from Maypearl High School in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart and the two shared their entire lives together in Maypearl. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1961 to 1964. He loved restoring old cars, barbecuing and playing music. He loved serving the Maypearl community having served as Mayor, served on the City Counsel, the Maypearl School Board, Maypearl Fire Chief, Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Lions Club. He devoted his life to his family and his community and loved both dearly. His laugh, love, involvement in the community and barbecue and barbecue sauce will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Laura Faye Marion of Maypearl; his son, Ted Vaughan and his wife, Mary of Maypearl; his sisters, LaNita Vaughn and her husband, Eddie, Laura Kay Ellis and her husband, Dale; his brothers, Buck Marion and his wife, Barbara, Jerry Marion and his wife, Judy; his grandchildren, Brandon Vaughan of Maypearl, Teddie Vaughan Nichols and her husband, Jeff of Maypearl, Andy Vaughan of Maypearl; 6 great grandchildren, Camrie, Brynlie, Karson, Ayva, Fisher, and Rylie; and many loving friends. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie, with Lynn DeHart officiating. Interment will follow at the Maypearl Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
