Mattie Trigg, age 94
September 5, 1911
January 24, 2006

Mattie Elkin Biard Trigg was born in Bonham, Texas, on September 5, 1911, to Robert Jackson and Forest Lynn (Elkin) Biard. She was educated in Dallas public schools, and graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton in 1932. In 1941, she married Aubrey M. Trigg, a long-time merchant and pharmacist in Waxahachie. Mr. Trigg, a native of Ellis County, preceded her in death in 1973.

She was a lifetime member of the Christian Church. She worked with local civic organizations: Shakespeare Club, AAEW; Gardeners, Ltd; and Historic Waxahachie. For ten years, she served as Assistant County Superintendent and later taught English and French at Waxahachie High School. During her long years of retirement, she never lost keen interest in the morning paper, all things academic, family history, church history, museums, and travel, be it the real or armchair kind.

She is survived by her two brothers Forrest R. Biard, Captain, U.S. Navy (Ret) of Dallas, Texas and Jack Biard, Plano, Texas and 13 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Dorothy Allen of Reno, Nevada, and Margaret Sansom of Greenville, Texas.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will 10 AM Friday, January 27, 2006 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Herb Polinard officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Burial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
