Mrs. Walker passed away Saturday evening at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Mateo and Soledad Torres Cabrera. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas in 1952; married George J. Walker August 27, 1952, also in Dallas. Mrs. Walker was a managing supervisor for over thirty years for Texas Employment Commission. She was on the City of Red Oak Planning and Zoning Committee, a member of the Seniors Access Club and had been a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Lancaster since it was established in 1975. Mrs. Walker loved and enjoyed her family and was Leader of the Pack.

Her survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Angie Walker of Mesquite, Texas, John and Teresa Walker of Red Oak, Texas; daughter, Yvonne Walker-Blackburn of Red Oak, Texas; daughters-in-law, Laura Jane Walker-Bernard of Red Oak, and Elaine Walker-Garza of Ennis; sister, Angela Anaya of Chula Vista, California; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Walker on March 18, 2006, James Mathew Walker in December 2003, and Jeffery Blake Walker in 1995; four brothers; one sister.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-9 PM Tuesday at the Red Oak Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7:30 PM with Deacon Leo Cortinas Celebrant. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 PM Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, Lancaster with Father Art Mallison Celebrant. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers for Mrs Walker. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ennis, Texas.
