Mary Thompson

Mary Ellen Thompson, age 85 of Waxahachie, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Waxahachie, Texas. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie. Interment will follow in the Cope Cemetery in Lillian, Texas. Visitation with the family will be observed on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Mary Ellen was born on February 24, 1933 to Otis Thomas and Callie Lile Hallmark in Lillian, Texas. She led a full life, and her family and friends were her passion and life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an avid gardener and loved going to garage sales. Mary Ellen graduated from Venus High School and married the love of her life in 1964. She had three children, five grandchildren, and one great granddaughter with another on her way.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during the last couple of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny C. Thompson; sister, Peggy Allen; and brother, Otis Troy Hallmark.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Rosina Will and her husband John, Johnny C. Thompson II and his wife, Lavonne, and Johnna Breedon and her husband, H.P.; sister, Anita Bell; sisters in-law, Ida Hallmark and Lea Devizio; grandchildren, Eric Will and wife, Kim, Calli Thompson Johnson and husband, Chase, Trey Thompson, Aidan Breedon and Mary Breedon; and one great granddaughter, Blakeley Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
