Mary Smith

Mary Catherine Smith, 78 of Mansfield passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and close friends at 11:10 pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.  She was born on February 9, 1943 in Newark, AR to the late James & Etta Mae Satterwhite.  She has three siblings; Danny & Barbara Satterwhite, Brenda & Danny Abbott and Donald Satterwhite.

Mary was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.  She especially loved her role as Nanny.  She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.  She made friends everywhere she went.

She is the loving and devoted mother of Charla Smith & Jim Harrington of Dallas, Gaylen Smith & wife, Celeste of Mansfield and Kim Curtis & husband Michael of Midlothian.

Adored Nanny of 10 grandchildren; Stephanie Armstrong, Cody Armstrong & wife Bee, Ashley Smith-Staggs, Brandon McQueen & wife Hope, Casey Armstrong, Kelsi Reed & husband Cory, Krystina Zabonik, Zachary Donica, Lauren Curtis & Clayton Curtis.

Nine great grandchildren; Christopher, Raegan, Cash, Layne, Kinsley, Mason, Wesley, Harper & Hadleigh.

Close friend, Les Jackson & countless nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Today she rests in the arms of her sweet King.

Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Miner officiating.

Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery.  Visitation with the family is scheduled from 10:00 am to noon on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Food & Gathering will be at Hidden Waters located at 2220 Bells Chapel Rd. in Waxahachie after the interment.
