Mary Gwendolyn (Gwen) Ramsey, age 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, May 29, 2005 at her home in Waxahachie, Texas. She was born on October 23, 1920 in Bonham, Texas to Hubert and Hallie Belle Moore. She and her family moved to Dallas when she was twelve years old. She graduated from Sunset High School in 1939. She married George Alston Ramsey on December 21, 1941, and was married almost 61 years prior to his death. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Mike, and his wife, Bonney, of Waxahachie; two granddaughters, Angela Benkendorfer and her husband, Scott, of Austin and Andrea Prendergast of Frisco; great grandsons, Dax, Brooks, Alex and Bryce Benkendorfer of Austin and Cade and William Prendergast of Frisco. The family will receive friends and family from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy. 287 Business, Waxahachie, Texas. A family committal service will be held Friday morning, June 3, 2005, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 38, Waxahachie, Texas 75168 or the charity of choice.
