Mary Odom

Mary Jo Odom, born October 19, 1924 passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on May 17, 2020 at Buffalo Creek Assisted Living, Waxahachie, Texas.

She was a graduate of Waxahachie High School, married to Rex Odom for 63 years.  They owned and operated several successful businesses in Waxahachie and Ennis.  Mary Jo was actively involved in the day to day operations of all of their business ventures.  Both her husband and she attended and were dedicated member of Ferris Heights United Methodist Church in Waxahachie.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband Rex Odom of Waxahachie, her father John Clinton Bunch, her mother Hattie Lou Bunch both of Waxahachie, sisters Virginia Brooks of Amarillo, Helen Ashton of Waxahachie, Betty Banks of Taylor and brothers, John Bunch of Waxahachie and Ed Bunch also of Waxahachie.

Surviving members of her family includes sons Jimmie Rex Odom and wife Yvonne of Waxahachie, Rodney Glen Odom and wife Marcia of Trinity, North Carolina and Stephen Gregg Odom and wife Debbie of Waxahachie; one surviving sister Peyton Middleton of Orange, California; grandchildren, Angela Odom of NC, Amy Wolfington and husband Micah Wolfington of NC, John David Odom and wife Kayliann of NC, Rhonda Anderson and husband Craig of Waxahachie, Keli Atkins and husband Trace, Kim Odom Brown and husband Stephen of Waxahachie and Mark Odom and wife Holly of Austin; and great grandchildren Zeb and Jude Brown of Waxahachie, Ruby and Rex Odom of Austin, Sara and Anna Wolfington of NC., Brayden Garcia, Will Atkins, Dylan Atkins and Lauren Atkins of Waxahachie, Ryan Anderson of Waxahachie; great great grandchild Judah Odom of NC.

The family wishes to thank Buffalo Creek Assisted Living for the dedicated support and care they showed to Mary Jo for the final days of her most special life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, Waxahachie, Texas.
