Mary "Pete" McColley December 13, 1929 February 5, 2011 Mary "Pete" McColley, 81 of Red Oak, passed away February 5, 2011 in a Dallas hospital with her loving husband by her side. She was born to the late Martin E. and Alice A. Scoggins Vandiver on December 13, 1929 in Dallas, Texas. A loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and friend; she had a passion for life, serving the Lord and she lived it to the fullest. She was a true warrior of God. She was in the Nursing field for over 30 years and loved every one of her patients. She never met a stranger and loved to tell others about the Lord. Her family and friends were her life and she loved each and every one unconditionally. One word sums up her life; Mama was Love. She is survived by her loving and doting husband, Jack L. McColley of Red Oak; her daughters, Lynda Pembleton and her husband, Bill of Clarksville, TN, Anne Horton and her husband, Larry of Ennis; her son, Rick Gorrell and his wife, Lori of Mesquite; her step daughter, Jenny Stodard and her husband, Steve of Irving; her step son, John McColley and his wife, Kathy of Mesquite; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her nephew, Martin Vandiver and his wife, Ann of Dallas; and hundreds of "Adopted" kids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, M. E. Vandiver; her daughter, Carol Ward; her daughter in law, Tonya Gorrell; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Gloryland Church, DeSoto with Rev. Eddie Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Laurel Oaks Cemetery, Mesquite. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
