Mary Christine Knowles Johnston September 21, 1930 February 07, 2013 Mary Christine Johnston, whose primary roles in life were caregiver and homemaker, went to her heavenly home on February 07, 2013. Christine was born to George and Inez Knowles on September 21, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas. She married Billy Clyde Johnston on September 26, 1946 at the ripe old age of barely 16. Christine raised four children and was employed by Texas Instruments for 10 years during the 1960s. She served as a deacon at First Christian Church of Mineola before moving to Waxahachie and joining First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. She greatly enjoyed being a part of the Ellis County Singers. Survivors include daughter Linda Johnston Arage and husband Philip of Waxahachie, daughter Brenda Johnston Partin and husband Patrick of Cypress, Texas and son Jay Keith Johnston and wife Emerence of Kingwood, Texas. Grandchildren are Jarrod Reed Erwin and wife Laurel, Ryan Corbett Erwin and wife Christina, Kimberly Renee Levicky and husband Brett, and Stephanie Hope Arage. Great grandchildren are Peyton Renee Erwin, Dylan Reed Erwin, Paris Alyse Erwin and Kingston Ryan Erwin. She is also survived by step-granddaughter Amy Michelle Arage and her children: Charles Dylan Woods, Breanna Danyelle Woods and Rylan Clint Pannell. Survivors also include her brother Tom Knowles and sisters-in-law Jimmie Herring and Annette Roberson. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter Sandra Sue Johnston. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday February 13, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Interment will follow at Shirley Cemetery near Sulphur Springs, Texas at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday . The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Waxahachie's Mission Fund or the American Cancer Society.
