Mary LaRue DeViney, age 88
October 21, 1917
March 19, 2006

Mrs. DeViney passed away Sunday at her Dallas, Texas residence. She was born in Reagor Springs, TX. to Fred Wiley and Tina (Graham) Layton. She graduated from L. C. Robinson High School in Lancaster, then received her BA degree from NTU in Denton. She married Dawson DeViney in Del Rio, TX. in 1939. Mrs. DeViney was an art and English teacher for thirty five years, teaching in Brownsville, Del Rio, Big Springs and Crum. She was an artist, avid bowler, was very involved with Parents without Partners, was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always well remembered by her students. Mrs. DeViney was a member of the Church of Christ of White Rock.

Her survivors include: son, Don DeViney of Irving; daughter-in-law, Marilyn DeViney of Red Oak; sister, Tina Ruth Fiegenschue of Dallas; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special caregivers, Cora Roberson, Carole Copeland and Shirley Hoops. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, brother and sister.

Graveside Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Red Oak Cemetery with Pastor David Tarbet officiating. Visitation will be 9-10:30 AM prior to the service at the Red Oak Boze Family Funeral Home, 120 N. Hwy. 342, Red Oak, TX. 75154.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas School for the Blind, Austin, TX.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Boze Family Funeral Home.
