Mary Frances Claunch, age 77

Mary Frances Harmening Claunch, died Sunday morning, October 29, 2006, after a long illness at her home in Waxahachie. Mary Frances was born in Maypearl, Texas on January 21, 1929, the daughter of William M. Harmening and Cora Goodrich Harmening. A graduate of Maypearl High School, she and Joel Tibbs Claunch were married at the Maypearl Baptist Church November 30, 1946, uniting two pre-Civil War settlement families of the Ellis County area. She was a Teller for the First State Bank of Maypearl. Mrs. Claunch was a member of the Century Club, Friday's Ladies Luncheon Group and the Ladies Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie.
Mary Frances is survived by daughter, Katherine Claunch Lee (Jerry) of Waxahachie; grandson, Jerry Lee, Jr., U.S. Army, Ft. Lewis, WA.; great grandson Chase Stebner-Lee of Houston; sister, Tommie Harmening Brey (William) of Mt. Dora, Florida; nephew Martin Phillips (Shawna) of South Lake, Texas; and nieces Laura Brey, Villa Park, Illinois and Susan Brey Reinhardt (Dan) of Oak Park, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Tibbs in February 1990, her parents, and sister Billie Harmening Phillips (Guinn) in 2003.
Graveside services will be 2 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Maypearl Cemetery with Pastor Tony Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
