Marvin Wammack

January 27, 1926 — September 8, 2013

Marvin Clifton "Red" Wammack passed away at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas on September 8, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born on January 27, 1926 in Euless, TX. to the late, Lawrence O. Wammack and Hattie V. Hughes. He was a longtime resident of Red Oak, Texas where he was a dairyman for many years and later developed the Red Oak Valley Golf Club. Red is preceded in death by his wife Vivian Johnson Wammack; also by his parents, Lawrence O. and Hattie V. Hughes Wammack. He survived by his wife, Jean Hubbard Wammack; by his children, Cliff Wammack and his wife, Connie Dawson Wammack, Sharon Wammack Hammond and her husband, Jim; his sister, Helen Sowards; his grandchildren, Chad and Cammie, Jared and Jennifer and Brandon Wammack. Jerry and Sue Hubbard, Jeffrey and Sharon Hubbard also loved "Red" who was Paw Paw to their children. Carsen Wammack was his # 1 great granddaughter and Master Logan Wammack the great grandson. Red served as past Master of Ferris Masonic Lodge #460, member and past President of Red Oak Lions Club for 35 years, Member of the United Methodist Church of Red Oak. He also served on the Red Oak Independent School Board and the Red Oak ISD Tax Equalization Board. He participated in the honorary chapter of Farmer FFA serving on the Farm Bureau Board Of Directors for 10 years, Waxahachie Country Club Board of Directors for two terms. Member of Helping Hands of Red Oak/Ovilla, Member and past president of North Texas Camping Squares 1988-1989 and member of Texas State Camping Squares and Secretary 1996-`1997. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. A Celebration of his life is scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Red Oak with Pastor Allen Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
