Mr. Marvin Moses, lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Saturday at Pleasant Manor Living Center, Waxahachie. He was born in Nash (Ellis County), TX. to Louis and Ida (Roberts) Moses. He attended Palmer Schools and married Arnetta Preston November 7, 1931 in Waxahachie. He was a life long farmer in the Rockett area. His hobbies were lawn mower repair and woodcraft and spoiling his grandchildren. Mr. Moses was the oldest surviving member of the Ferris Avenue Baptist Church, where he
had been a member for fifty years.
Survivors are: son, Glynn Moses and his wife Janie of Waxahachie; sisters, Florence Watson, Juanita Smith and Adell Tucker all of the Dallas area; grandchildren, Jeff Moses and his wife Renee and Steve Moses and his wife Shannon; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Delaney and Emma; one brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 71 years, Arnetta Moses, and two brothers, Beamis and Ocie.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Monday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor David Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be J. B. Preston, Herman Preston, Bobby Elmore, Randy Johnston, Ricky Johnston and Gene David. Interment will follow in the Bells Chapel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ferris Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, Waxahachie.
