Marjorie Farr

Marjorie Lee Farr October 16, 1924 December 15, 2010 Marjorie Lee Farr peacefully won her eight year battle with Alzheimer's disease to return to her Maker at 4:41 p.m. December 15, 2010, at the age of 86. She was born in the Stockard paternal family homestead on October 16, 1924, in Beloit, Kansas, as the second child born to William Lee Senter and Nettie Alice Loop Senter. Marjorie loved animals and had pet cats, chickens and a pony named Bobbie as she grew up on a rural wheat farm near Stockton, Kansas.Graduating from Stockton High School in May 1943 was difficult for Marjorie after her mother died suddenly of a brain tumor the previous December. She married Emmette "Wayne" Farr in October 1944, and their union was blessed with a daughter Gail in November 1949. They moved from Stockton to Wichita, Kansas in 1951, and remained there until 1977 when they moved to Sedgwick, Kansas. Marjorie and Wayne traveled extensively, spending summers in Colorado and winters with their friends in Texas after Wayne retired in 1987. Marjorie enjoyed hosting UMW events, and was a successful AVON representative in the 1980's. In 1994, Marjorie and Wayne celebrated their golden wedding anniversary lunch and cake with close card party friends. They moved to Texas in 2004 due to failing health to be closer to their daughter Gail and her extended family. Marjorie moved to Ennis Care Center in January 2005 after being diagnosed with mid-stage Alzheimeré�s disease, and they were separated for the first time in their 60 years of marriage. Marjorie is preceded in death by her infant sister and her beloved husband Wayne in 2007. She is survived by her daughter Gail and son-in-law Rick of Ferris, Texas, two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Graveside services were held on December 18, 2010 at the Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak, Texas.
