Marilynn Besancon

We regretfully announce the passing of our wife and mother, Marilynn Besancon, who passed away surrounded by her family on April 13th, 2022 in Waxahachie, Texas at the age of eighty-one.

Marilynn was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas where she was a debutante, participated in Junior League activities, and later taught at First United Methodist School for Little People, where she was a dedicated and active member. She later moved to Victoria, Texas with her husband, Louis Besancon, where she was a devoted mother to her three children, Gwen, Gretchen, and Brad.

While Gwen was at college, Marilynn hit the horse show circuit with Gretchen, attended Brad’s sporting events, and adopted and loved every cat and dog that walked up the driveway. Later in life, she was blessed with five grandchildren and two great grandchildren who she adored and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Faye Mathis. She is survived by her husband, Louis Besancon, her two daughters, Gwen and Gretchen, her son, Brad, and her sister Marjorie.
