Marilyn Ruth Minter Caudell was born on November 24, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK. At an early age she moved to Grand Prairie, TX. with her family where she lived until she married. Her parents were Ada Askew Minter (deceased) and Nancy Bernice Elledge Minter (deceased).
She had four sisters and three brothers, Virginia Minter Young along with husband Roland Young, Charles Minter (deceased), Eldon Earl (deceased at birth), Nancy Minter Ferguson, Maggie Kearly, and George "Skeeter" Minter. Marilyn graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1956. She met and fell in love with James Dowe Caudell. They were married on October 5, 1957. Together they raised three wonderful children, Rhonda Elaine Embree (husband-Ray Embree), Jeffrey Brian Caudell (wife-Evey Newell Caudell) and Cary Wayne Caudell (wife-Lisa Kodet Caudell).
James and Marilyn celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a surprise party, hosted by their children and their spouses at Eastridge Baptist Church in Red Oak, TX. last year. They have 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; who were each made to feel as if they were the most special by their "Mema".
Marilyn had a special talent for sewing and crafts which she used to show her love to others. She even made both her daughter‘s-in-law wedding dresses and crocheted dolls for her grandchildren.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by all of her family, but most of all by her devoted husband, James.
Vistation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 11 AM Thursday, September 11, 2008 in the chapel of the Red Oak Funeral Home with interment in Melissa, TX.
