Marie Joan Threet went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2009. She was born to Chalmers Jerome and Cynthia Drucilla Trigg Varner on February 4, 1916 at Lone Cedar. She married Ernest Price (Jack) Threet on December 20, 1941.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and two brothers. She is survived by three sisters, Mary Ella Bell of Italy, Audrey Lucille Varner and Romie Drucilla Glenn, both of Waxahachie. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mae Wardlaw and Fay Murray, both of Corsicana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie helped work the Threet family farm with her husband, Jack and later worked at Ennis Business Forms from which she retired.
She also enjoyed sewing and working in her yard.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Italy.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Italy with Rev. Eric E. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Milford Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
