Marie Shinpaugh, 89, of Waxahachie, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021.  She was born in Milford, TX on October 17, 1932. At a young age, Marie‘s family moved to Smyer, TX where she graduated from Smyer High School in 1951. In 1952, her family moved to Waxahachie, TX where she began Nursing Training the same year. After her training, she worked at W.C. Tenery Hospital for the next 10 years. In 1962, she went to work at the Medical Center Laboratory as an X-ray and Lab Technician where she worked until she retired. Marie was active in church when she could attend and is a long time member of the Eastern Stars. She is survived by her son Carl C. Shinpaugh and his wife, Karin of Dallas; her daughter, Janet Size and her husband, Mike of Cincinnati, OH; her grandchildren, Austin Shinpaugh of Denver, CO, Ashley Shinpaugh of Dallas, Andrew Size of Denver, CO, and Trevor Size of Cincinnati, OH. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Grady C. Shinpaugh, her parents, Carley and Ola Stroope, twin brother, Marvin Stroope, and brothers, Charles Stroope, and James Stroope. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery.
