Marie was the first child born to Ralph and Ethel Irvin of Moody, Texas. She grew up on a farm near Moody, graduated from Troy High School and Scott and White Hospital School of Nursing.

As a Registered Nurse, she served at the Scott and White and Santa Fe Hospitals in Temple, Texas; The State of Texas and U. S. Public Health Services in central Texas; and as an Industrial nurse for Owens Illinois Glass Co. and Phillips Petroleum Co., where she met and married David, her husband for 50 years.

She was active in church and community organizations where ever she lived. In Waxahachie, she belonged to the First United Methodist Church and the Waxahachie Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband, David; a son David Larry and daughter-in-law Carrie of Stevensville, MD; three grandchildren, Stephen, Chelsea and Aidan; a sister-in-law Doris Elaine Irvin of Waco, Texas; a nephew Charles Rea and wife Pat of Plano, Texas; and many friends.

A private family service will be held at the D/FW National Cemetery, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service, Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Waxahachie First United Methodist Church.

Memorials can be sent to the Organ Fund at the First United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
