Marie Violet Davenport, 90, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Italy, Texas. Heaven's door opened early that morning for Marie. She slipped peacefully away in the care of Family First Hospice of Ennis. She had been ill for some time and resided at Trinity Mission in Italy. When she took a turn for the worse, she was comfortable with her family close.
Marie was born and raised in Avalon. She had a good life of farming and graduated high school. She met her husband, Charles Davenport, after she moved to Italy in 1950. She had a full and prosperous life. She and husband were well known for their egg business they had for many years, Davenport Egg Farm. Besides the farm, Marie loved fishing, house work and working in the yard. She loved Charles and she enjoyed helping him, they were always together.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Davenport, who just left her side after 61 years of marriage after his death in May of this year. She was also preceded in death by her both her parents; one brother, Clarence Fleeman; and nephew, Sonny Fleeman.
She is survived by her brother, Chester Fleeman; nieces, Sue Mellos and Kay Fleeman; along with other nieces, nephews, and family members.
Marie was a private person and wanted no funeral. There will be a graveside service for family only at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
