Maria Martinez

Maria C. Martinez was born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas on December 15, 1936. She entered Heaven's Gate on November 6th, 2016.

Maria married the love of her life, Tito Martinez Sr. in 1955. The couple settled in Chicago, IL in the early 1970's, where they raised their six children, then later retired in Texas.

Maria was a loving mother and a caring wife, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she collected pictures of all her grandchildren that she wanted the world to see. Maria was a woman that had a unique sense of style, and enjoyed shopping. She also was a hard worker, who loved to help provide for her family. Maria was a kind-hearted woman, who always made sure your belly was full and never forgot to add you into her prayers. She was known for her story telling, great sense of humor, and amazing cooking. Maria will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Maria is survived by her husband of 61yrs, Tito Martinez, Sr., children; Lydia Vargas, Rosa Correa, Tito Martinez, Jr., Manuel Martinez, Jaime Martinez and Veronica Martinez; siblings, Bernado Correa, Guillerma Correa, Petra Martinez, Felicitas De La Rosa and Elvira Correa; and 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Geronimo Correa and Rafaela Sandoval; daughter, Josefina Martinez; and siblings, Jose, Rafael, Felipa, Gabriel and Margarito Correa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will directly follow funeral services at Little Bethel Cemetery in Duncanville. Visitation with the family will be observed from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
