Margaret Wilene Winn Taylor
Margaret Wilene (Winn) Taylor was born August 1, 1913 to Clyde Fleetwood and Dollie (Wells) Winn in Waxahachie, TX. where she was reared and graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1931. She attended Kidd-Key College and Conservatory of Music in Sherman, TX. on a piano scholarship where she began to distinguish herself as an artistic performer under the close tutelage of such famous late teachers as Pettis Pipes, Frank Benard, and Edwin Key. Margaret continued her intense music studies at Baylor University where she obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in 1939. After pursuing further piano study with Bomar Cramer in Indianopolis, IA., she moved to the Los Angeles, CA. area in 1941 where she began a successful career of teaching and performing piano and accordion. In 1955 she completed construction of her own commercial building in Redondo Beach, CA., where she maintained her professional career in the music industry under the name "Wilene's Accordion & Piano Studio: Music for all Occasions," an occupation she enjoyed until December 2001 when declining health caused cessation of her music activities. She died of natural causes at the age of 89 on April 23, 2003 at Torrance Memorial Hospital, Torrance. CA.
Margaret Taylor is survived by niece Carol Farrar and husband Edwin of Waxahachie, TX.; nephew John Reglin and wife Betty Carole of Plano, TX.; great-niece Rain Reglin of Dallas, TX.; great-nephews Andrew Reglin and wife Kate of Allen, TX.; Nathan Reglin and wife Amanda of Farmersville, TX.; Joseph Reglin of Plano, TX.; Joshua Reglin of Lubbock, TX.; Louis Farrar of Waxahachie, TX.; Eric Farrar and wife Jennifer of Jasper, TX.; David Farrar of Dallas, TX.; Scott Dickson and wife Kathleen of Atlanta, GA.; Marcus Dickson of Detroit, Mi. Great-great-nephews/nieces are Logan Farrar, Elizabeth Reglin, Jacqueline Farrar, and John Logan Reglin. Preceding her in death were her parents as well as her sister and brother-in-law Louise and Frederick Reglin, Jr. of Waxahachie, TX.
Following visitation at White & Day Colonial Funeral Chapel in Redondo Beach, CA. on April 27, a private graveside service with interment was held April 30 at 10:00 AM in the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Memorials may be may to the First United Methodist Church New Organ Fund, 505 W. Marvin, Waxahachie, TX. 75165.
