Margaret Irene Hemphill passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the age of 83. She was born in Madison , KS on August 22, 1926 to Lucy and John E. Morris Sr. Margaret married the ,love of her life, Gifford T. Hemphill on August 11, 1943 in Clovis, NM. Margaret's life brought so much happiness and joy to her family. She was a housewife and mother to her daughter and son. During these years, she was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and received a lifetime membership award. Margaret also served as a Girl Scout Leader, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing Bridge with her friends. Mrs. Hemphill is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jim Hanson of Ovilla, TX; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Connie Hemphill of Levelland, TX; grandchildren, Carey Smith and her husband, Sterling of Forney, TX; Kevin Hanson and his wife, Amanda of North Aurora, IL; Tamara Hemphill of Levelland; Jared Hemphill of Levelland; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Paige, Patrick, Meagan, and Chase. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gifford Tremain Hemphill, her parents and six brothers and sisters. Visitation has been set at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy. 287 Business, Waxahachie , TX 75165 for Sunday, August 8th from 4:00-6:00pm. Margaret will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010.
