Mack Hunt Teague, age 83

April 2, 2003

Mr. Teague passed away Wednesday at his Waxahachie residence. He was born to J. Owen and Hattie Elizabeth (Hunt) Teague in Cleburne, TX. He married Sue Burne on March 15, 1941 in Burleson. Mr. Teague was a member of the Cleburne Masonic Lodge and was past president of the Optimist Club. He was a member and was awarded salesman of the year by the Texas Funeral Directions Association. He served on a number of committees at the First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie, where he was a member for 41 years. He was very proud to have been the first teacher of the Builders Class for young married couples, and continued in that role for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp. Mr. Teague was a retired Funeral Director and Sales Representative for a Funeral Supply Company for over 55 years.

Mack is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Sue Teague of Waxahachie; one daughter, Marti Mayben and husband, Phil of Dallas; step grandchildren, Tim Mayben and wife, Lanna of Frisco and Amy Allen of Plano; two sisters, Helen Brown and husband, Doye of Houston, formerly of Burleson, and Mable Jackson of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Friday, April 4, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie with Dr. Richard Reed and Reverend John Dowd officiating. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Wray, Bill Sullivan, C. D. Holloway, Buddy Vincent, James Beller, Dan Ed Morton, T. C. Jefferson, Edwin Farrar and Roger Marshall. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
