Macario "Mike" Sanchez

Macario G. Sanchez (Mike) passed away on December 21, 2020, at the age of 95, in Waxahachie, Texas surrounded by his family.

He was a faithful member of his church and devoted father, tio, grandfather, and “Grandpapa”. He loved the Lord and trusted Jesus as his personal savior. Many Waxahachie folks knew Mike and his wife Sara as “Ma and Pa”. They served as house parents at the Presbyterian and Baptist homes for many years, while owning and running several restaurants. One of the most notable restaurants they owned was Sara’s Deli in Waxahachie. Mike and Sara also planted several churches here in town.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Romaldo and Adelaria Sanchez, as well as his wife of 54 years, Sara Sanchez. Mike is survived by 5 of his siblings including Antonia Sanchez, Aurora Martinez, Josephine De Los Santos, Guadalupe Sorrells, and Sostenez Sanchez. He is also survived by his daughter Sylvia Rodriguez and her husband Ray, his son Macario Sanchez Jr. (Mike) and his girlfriend Ginger Todd, and his son Daniel Sanchez and his wife Ann. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren Lydia, Macario III (Mike), Beca, Emily, Amanda, Sarita, James and their families; including his 11 great grandchildren Christian, Rachelle, Hannah, Allison, Aaron, Braylon, Bubba, Sammy, Eli, Cameron, and Anna.

We would like to thank everyone for your prayers and support for our beloved Grandpa. We know that he would urge everyone to serve the Lord and to love each other. As Grandpa would say, “God bless you”.
