Just Breathe
When life throws you a curve, just breathe
When life gives you flowers to smell, just breathe
When the sun is shining, take a lung full of the brilliant air and just breathe
When the rain pelts the earth and makes puddles to stomp in, do that and then just breathe

If you are hurting from loss, or hurting from pain, just breathe
If your heart has been bruised and you think you can't go on, just breathe
If you've run a good race, but lost anyway, just breathe
If you've given it your all and there is still a mountain to climb, just breathe

At the joy of a new life, just breathe
At the despair in a death, just breathe
At the moment of triumph, at the moment of defeat, just breathe
At the moment you think you simply cannot, just breathe

For all the times in your life, when you win and when you lose, when you are crying in pain when you laugh till you cry. When you are alone and joyful or alone and lonely. At the moment of a surprising truth or the crushing knowledge of a lie, when you know you can't go on and when you know you must. Just breathe.
When the person you love with your whole being, loves you back, just breathe
When someone you think you have lost, gently touches your face, just breathe
When your grandchild says, "I love you" and you think your heart will stop, just breathe
When the Spirit touches your soul and it takes your breath away, just breathe

It is our gift of life to fill our lungs and refresh our bodies with the single effort of breathing. It clears the head. It clears the mind. It settles a pounding heart. It is a new beginning each time. Each time we just breathe.
