Luis Enriquez Sr, 72, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.

He was born on May 24, 1949  in Uvalde, to Pantaleon and Amelia Enriquez (Garza).

He married the love of his life, Raye Ann Cunningham on June 15, 1979, in Waxahachie, Texas.  The couple was married for 42 years, and together for 45.

Luis served in the US Air Force until 1971 when he was honorably discharged as a Vietnam Veteran. He lived his life full of faith and not fear.  Luis loved his family more than anything, never seeing half or step relationships, just family. He loved sports, especially baseball and football, and didn’t miss an opening day for the Texas Rangers with his son, Luis Jr since 1992. He could build anything and loved working in his shop and working with his hands. Luis spent his life helping others, always willing to lend a hand with a true servants heart.

Luis was preceded in death by his daughter, April Langlinais, his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Welvan “Sonny” and Beulah Leger. He is survived by his wife Raye Ann and daughter, Jessica Enriquez Smith and husband Rick of McKinney, his son Luis Enriquez Jr of Waxahachie, and his daughter’s widower Van Mendes and wife Angela of Ennis, and is survived by his grandchildren in order of their ages, Trent Hutchison, Eric Mendes, Nick Barnhill, Kameron Martinez and her husband Colby, Gage Kubankin and his wife Echo, Austin Baily, Devan Mendes, Gabriel Kubankin, Landon Ty Kriska, Alyssa Alsup, Jessica Starr Kubankin, Colton Smith and Morgan Smith and great grandchildren River Mendes, Carter Mendes, Madison Bailey and coming soon April Martinez.

Luis is also survived by his siblings, Carmen Frederick, Norma Kennedy and husband Karl, Rosa Trevino, Margie Betancur, Nora Martinez and Rudy Enriquez.
