Lucy Couch Chapman, age 86
February 28, 1921
April 27, 2007

Mrs. Chapman, lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Friday morning at the Red Oak Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Milford, TX. to Ernest and Annie (Neal) Couch. Mrs. Chapman held various secretarial positions and served for many years as secretary of the Red Oak Cemetery Association. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Oak.

Her survivors include: husband of 65 years, Grady Chapman of Red Oak; son, Ronald L. Chapman of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Carroll of Salado, TX.;
Grandchildren, Tiffany Elkins and Laura Bersoza of Belton, Sarah Chapman and Megan Chapman of N.C.; great grandsons, Collin and Cade Elkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael G. Chapman in 1950, three brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 2:30 PM Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Red Oak with Reverend Jeff Swart, Reverend Kirk Shelton and Reverend James Schoenrock officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Oak First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Red Oak Cemetery Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
