Luciano Ojeda Velez, age 69

Mr. Velez passed away early Tuesday morning at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. Mr. Velez was born in Dallas, TX. He was a retired commercial truck driver for Red Arrow Freight Lines and a small business owner. He was a member of the Church of Compassion in Dallas.

Mr. Velez is survived by: his wife Lorene of Waxahachie; his mother Fannie O. Velez of Dallas; son Mark Velez of Dallas; two daughters, Jessie Velez of Dallas and Tanya G. Zambrano of Waxahachie; one brother and sister-in-law, Louis O. Velez, Sr and Angelina of Double Oak; and one sister and brother-in-law, Norberta Y. and Antonio J. Martinez of Dallas; two grandchildren, Ryan and Miranda Zambrano of Waxahachie; three step-children; one son-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Luciano, Sr. and one brother, Thomas, Sr.

The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, June 10 from 7 to 9 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 11, at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Reverend Joel Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
