While at A&M, he met Barbara and they were married on September 29, 1951 in Alexandria, LA. Upon graduation, Loyd entered military service and was deployed and served in the Korean War. When he returned to the states, the family moved to Throckmorton where he farmed and later to Grand Prairie, to manage a farm and start an egg production business. In 1965, Loyd was employed by Texas Farm Bureau as a career agent and became the agency manager for Dallas County and then Ellis County, retiring in 1995. Loyd was a loving and generous man. He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and was full of life. He was an active member of First Baptist Lancaster for many years, serving as a deacon before moving to Waxahachie and becoming a member of First Baptist Waxahachie where he served as a deacon. His sense of humor, advice, and loving presence will be greatly missed. The family gives a special thank you to Dr. Ledbetter for many years of excellent care.
