Lowell Hamilton (L.H.) Baker, 82, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away on September 25, 2008. He was the only child born to the late James Edward and Maggie Lucille Baker of Italy, Texas. During his school days in Italy, he was active as a Future Farmer of America student and traveled the state showing his prize winning Duroc Red Jersey hog. After graduation, he traveled on the Electric Interurban Railway to gain employment in the North Texas Defense plants helping build B-24 Liberators. After the war ended, he and his wife Virginia built their first home with the help of relatives in Waxahachie. He worked at Tyler Refrigeration in Waxahachie until being employed by Rockwell International. During his twenty-seven years at Rockwell, he worked as a coordinator for the installation of the largest microwave system installed in Saudi Arabia. He also was the liaison for the visiting Saudi dignitaries. He was loved and admired by all his co-workers at Rockwell International. "Gator" was the nickname his co-workers gave him which stuck with him all his twenty-seven years of service. He was a fifty plus year member of Masonic Lodge 90. After he retired, LH used his compassionate people skills to become a Heart to Heart volunteer at Tom Landry Cardiovascular Rehab at Baylor Hospital in Dallas serving 2086 loving hours from February 1992 to October 1998. He and his wife were members of Farley Street Baptist Church. LH was a wonderful husband and a positive, loving role model for his three children his entire life. Those who had the privilege of knowing him are blessed by his love of family, positive outlook on life, and a never ending sense of humor.
