Louise Pewitt, age 98, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born Louise Elizabeth Koch on October 23, 1922 in Brownwood, Texas. She married Raymond Odis Pewitt on October 26, 1942 in Oakland, California.
She and Raymond lived all over Texas, moving for Raymond’s job with Texas Power and Light. Louise always said that someone always needed an office girl when they moved to a new town and she would take the job. When they settled in Lancaster, she worked for Lone Star Gas Company until she retired.
Louise and Raymond were active in the Youth Ministry at the First Christian Church in Lancaster. They accompanied their two sons, Randy and Ronny, on many mission trips.
She loved throwing parties for the neighbors at their Lake Whitney cabin. There was always plenty of food for every occasion. Her house and the cabin were decorated for every holiday. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who she loved to spoil, remember Granny’s fabulous Easter Egg Dying parties.
After Raymond’s death in 2008, Louise continued to live in their Lancaster home with her beloved cat, Suzie. In 2016, she and Suzie moved to Brookdale Senior Living in Waxahachie. She made many friends among the residents and staff there.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond and son Ronny. She is survived by her son Randy, his wife Pam, grandson Ronny and wife Jennifer, granddaughter Tricia Howard and husband Nathan, great grandchildren Riley, Emma, and Maddie Pewitt and Charlie Howard.
Visitation will be at Wayne Boze in Waxahachie followed by a graveside service at Edgewood Cemetary in Lancaster.
