Mrs. Kirk went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday afternoon at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
Mrs. Kirk was born in Sardis, Texas to James Wade and Jennie (Gray) Middleton. She was raised in Sardis and graduated from Waxahachie High School. She married J.D. Kirk December 25, 1928 in Midlothian. Two of their children, June and Kenneth were born in Oklahoma City; Jerold was born in Midlothian and Helen in Waxahachie. They moved back to Waxahachie in 1938. She was a seamstress for Jan Manufacturing for 12 years retiring at the age of 73. Mrs. Kirk was a longtime faithful member of the Farley Street Baptist Church. Known to her family as Grand-maw, she loved to sew, cook and love her rather large family.
She is survived by four children; Kenneth Kirk and his wife Boots, Jerold Kirk and his wife Janice Ann, June Saunders and her husband Gene, Helen Sims and her husband J.B. all of Waxahachie, 16 grandchildren, Lisa and Clay Hinds, Kirk and Jana Saunders, Kyle and Melody Kirk, Kristi and Chuck Wright, Kim and Keven West, Heath and Charlesa Sims, Britt and Dina Sims, Glenn and Angela Sims; grandson-in-law Mack Seeton; granddaughter-in-law Monica Saunders, 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters; Victoria Brewer and her husband W.H. of El Campo, Janette Giles and Husband Wayne of Reno, Nevada, Betty Jo Davenport and Husband R.C. of Waxahachie, sister-in-law Peyton Middleton of Orange, California and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband J.D. (August 10, 1970), an infant son, grandson Richard Saunders, and granddaughter Sharon Seeton; 2 Brothers Wade Middleton, W.D. Middleton; 4 Sisters, Mary Margaret and Annie Laura Middleton, Gladys Sibley, Janie Ralston.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2pm Wednesday August 13, 2003 at the Farley Street Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Smith and Brother Jack McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Heath, Britt and Glenn Sims, Kirk Saunders, Kyle Kirk and Mack Seeton. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Clay Hinds, Kevin West, Chuck Wright, Scott Seeton, Aaron Saunders, Tyler Martin, Blake West, Jake Hinds, Seth Sims and Tanner Kirk.

Memorials may be made to the Farley Street Baptist Church.
