Lorene Tennery, 86 of Waxahachie, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Ernest Bratcher, Sr. & Beulah Moore Bratcher on December 18, 1920.

Lorene was the perfect mother in the eyes of her girls. She was an accomplished seamstress, making dresses for her girls to wear to church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and attending to everyone's needs. Lorene also enjoyed gardening, reading and working in the church. She will be remembered most by her loving smile. Lorene will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Rebecca Ann West and her husband, Jerry of Ovilla, Elaine Prater and her husband, Alvis of Waxahachie, Rachel McEntire and her husband, Sam of Waxahachie; 2 sisters, Jane Vaughan of Waxahachie, Hilda Ivey of Farmersville, Texas; 2 sisters-in-law, Frances Bratcher of Waxahachie, Lavoyce Tennery and her husband, T. O. of Waxahachie; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew Tennery; a sister, Maidie Hyles in 2007; 2 brothers and one other sister.

Services to celebrate Lorene's life will be held on her birthday at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. Jack McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
