Lola Mae Bohne Blum, 87, of Arlington, Texas, went home to be with her Lord January 23, 2021.
Lola was born January 16, 1934 to John and Alma Bohne in her home in Valley Mills Texas. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a teenager. After she graduated from Crawford High School, she finished business school in Waco, Texas. She married Otto Blum June 19, 1954 and enjoyed a happy marriage for 58 years residing in Arlington, Texas. She had three daughters, Karen, Sharon and Cindy and one son Russell. She was active in her church, a good cook, seamstress, loved gardening, was a loving and faithful wife and mother. Everyone knew her for her kind and gentle spirit. She leaves a legacy of love and faith for family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Bohne, her brother Ruvelle Bohne and her husband Otto Blum. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Karen and Tobey Nealy of Waxahachie, Sharon and Ricky Acker of Whitesboro, Cindy and Bruce King of Royse City, and Russell and Christy Blum of Arlington; her eight grandchildren: Truett Nealy, Amber Nealy Rogers, Bethany Blum Bradley, Rachel King Schaaf, Candice Nealy McCumber, Nathan Blum, David Nealy, Kristen King Goltz; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her family is grateful for the wonderful caregivers He placed in her life: Willie Fae Davis, Modupe Oyefeso, Tina Johnson, Abigail Smith and all the wonderful staff at Lighthouse of Care in Arlington. May the Lord richly bless you for your loving care of Mom.
A private celebration of life will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, February 1, 2021. Burial will take place at DFW National Cemetery February 8, 2021, 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make all donations to Lighthouse of Care, 6215 Ken Ave, Arlington, Texas 76001.
