Lois Faye Jenkins, age 96

November 8, 2006

Mrs. Jenkins, lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Wednesday morning at The Trinity Missions Health and Rehab, Italy. She was born in Avalon to Joe and Ernestine (Moore) Newman. She graduated from Avalon High School; then married Cecil Jenkins March 21, 1927 also in Avalon. Mrs. Jenkins was the owner/operator of Jenkins' Beauty Shop. She and Paw Paw were known as dancers.

Her survivors include: daughter, Doris Gorman of Avalon; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil, in 1977; one brother and four sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Graveside Services at the Hughes Cemetery on Friday, November 10, 2006 with Larry Poarch officiating. Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Avalon.
