Lois Julia Jones Harris

Lois Julia Jones Harris was born April 29, 1919 in Concho County, Texas to Earl Preston and Maude Mae Jones. She married Gene Harris in June of 1947. She and her husband started Gene Harris Petroleum, Inc., in Burleson and continued to be very involved in the community. They moved to Grandview in 1975. She was an active member of the Grandview First Baptist Church, past president of Johnson County Home Demonstration Club, past president of Burleson Parent Teachers Association, and a past 4-H Leader. She and her husband ,Gene, were active in raising the funds to open the first medical clinic in Burleson. She was a hard working wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roger Eugene Harris in 2005, and by five brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Gene of Grandview; two daughters, Paula Quisenberry and husband David, and Donna Ballew, all of Grandview; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Harris of Albuquerque, NM, eight grandchildren, Coby Quisenberry and wife D'Liss, Brad Quisenberry and wife Amy, Julie Ballew, and Amy Snoddy and husband Howdee of Grandview, Marci Quisenberry of Dallas, and Brandon Ballew and wife Bliss of Joshua, Kate Johnson and husband Jeremy, and Ethan Harris all of Albuquerque; and twelve Great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening, March 16, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at First Baptist Church in Grandview. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11 AM also at First Baptist Church in Grandview. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
