Lois Boyd

Lois Lanell Boyd passed away peacefully on October 28, 2017 at her home in Waxahachie. Lois was the daughter of the late Tommie and Winifred McMullen Kelso. Lois was born July 5, 1932 in Chatfield, Texas.

Lois was an Executive Secretary for the Grey Hound Bus Lines and retired from this position. She was a faithful member of the Avenue Church, where she served in a number of ministries. Lois loved her church and her church family. Her love for the Lord was seen and felt by her willingness to be His servant, serving where ever needed. Lois loved to travel and she has been in every state in the United States plus sixteen countries. Lois was also a wonderful cook and had a great love for her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a special friend to so many.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Tommie and Winifred Kelso; her husbands Donald S. Boyd and Charles Sonny Thompson; her brother Tommy Kelso and her sister Hazel Boyd.

She is survived by her two sons Philip Thompson and his wife Cathy of Midlothian; Mike Boyd and his wife Mary of Waxahachie, her daughter Teresa Wells and her husband Bobby of Waxahachie; six grandchildren, Jason Wooldridge of Waxahachie, Sunni Walton of Dallas, Josh Thompson and wife Amy of MayPearl, Jeff Thompson and wife Erica of Ovilla, Donald Boyd of Pasadena, California and Anna Boyd of New York City, New York; four great grandchildren; Lexi Thompson, Ridley Thompson, Jarykah Thompson, Jalyah Thompson. Also surviving Lois is a granddaughter by marriage, Misty Wells and her daughters, Brittany Wells, Lisa Cliver and Samantha Cliver. Lois is also survived by her beloved pet Zorro whom she loved and adored. She is survived by a host of friends who dearly loved and appreciated her.

Visitation with the family is scheduled Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

The celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Internment will follow at 2pm at the Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, Texas.
