Lisa Gaye Smith Wood, 51, passed away on March 21, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie. Visitation with the family will be observed from 6-8 PM on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Lisa Gaye Smith Wood was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Lisa taught special education for more than 20 years, dedicating her life to her students. Lisa also dedicated her life to her two children. Lisa was a Christian woman with a strong faith. Everyone who knew her will truly miss her. She was always the brightest light in the room.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Smith.

Lisa leaves behind her children, Taylor Wood and Kyle Wood; mother, Erma Smith; siblings, Linda Martin and her husband, Roger, Beverly Smith, Jimmy Dale Smith and his wife, Evelyn, Fred Smith and his wife, Sue, and Jason Smith; Shannon and Michael Sanders, Kirk and Christine Wood, Leonard and Barbara Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
