Lisa Boyd was born November 14, 1961 in Taylor, TX to E.D. and Sydnah Boyd. She went into the presence of her Lord and Savior October 5, 2014 at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. The fourth of five children, Lisa moved with her family to Freeport, TX in 1963 where she lived until moving again to Round Rock, TX in 1975. Lisa is a 1980 graduate of Round Rock High School and after graduating, she worked for over 25 years in the receiving departments of first Wal-Mart and then Sam's Club. She married H.W. Irby in 1990 and they made their home in Round Rock. Lisa's life story was truly a "hand of God." In 1978 she gave up a son for adoption and 32 years later was miraculously reunited with him and quickly made up for lost time. Michael, his wife Jessica and their children were her sustaining joy. Her grand-daughters Harley and Brynleigh are the legacy of a woman who put her family before herself every day of her life. As her health declined, she and her mother went to live with her sister Jenette and husband Rick Crabb in Waxahachie. The one constant in her life were the friends that she held dear to her, even when miles separated them. Her last two years were spent surrounded by a loving family, her Growing in Grace Sunday School class and the body of believers at Grace Church of Ovilla. Lisa is survived by her mother Sydnah Boyd, brothers David, Bruce and Keith; sister Jenette; son Michael; grand-daughters Harley and Brynleigh, numerous nieces, nephews and her lifetime "sister from another mother," Cindy Irby. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene David Boyd, Sr. Visitation will be at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 U.S. 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX 75165 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Funeral service will be at Grace Church of Ovilla, 519 Westmoreland Rd, Ovilla, TX 75154 at 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM, at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. In lieu of flowers, donations made be placed for breast cancer research, as Lisa had too many dear friends who suffered from that disease.
