Linda Trice

Linda Nixon Trice of Waxahachie, Texas passed away April 9, 2017 at the age of 70.

Linda lived a life of love and devotion for her family. She was married to her best friend in life, Phil, for 49 years. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and reading.
But, her passion in life was helping children, having spent more than 45 years in education. She enjoyed working with children in the classroom as an educator and with teachers as a Reading Recovery teacher leader through Texas Woman's University.

She was born August 29, 1946 in Old Hickory, Tennessee and moved to Texas for good in 1964. She was a graduate of Baylor University and Texas A&M Commerce.

Linda is survived by her husband, Phil, sons Mark Trice, wife Holly, of Waco and Brian Trice of McKinney; sisters Nikki Arnold and Rita Martin, spouse Jay, of Pilot Point; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sue and Andy Lester of Conroe; four grandchildren who called her Nana, Grace Trice, Foster Trice, Ethan Trice, and Faith Trice; and numerous uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents HC and Bernice (Quicksall) Nixon and granddaughter Lucy Frances Trice.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sammons Cancer Center and Bristol Hospice for the care of Linda during the last 14 months.

Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Brett Lester officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Those serving as pallbearers include, Shane Edelhauser, Donnie Laurence, Larry Nixon, Jonathan Bland, Jay Martin and Phil Scudder.
